Developing Virtue Secondary Girl School students will exhibit an art Collage Project directed by Ada B. Fine, guest artist instructor. Fifteen girls' from grade 7th – 12th personal collages will be exhibited in conjunction with the Lantern Festival.
The Instilling Goodness Elementary School students will display special large size lanterns. Six lanterns constructed by 5th and 6th boys will be displayed through the month of February. The public may purchase smaller Lanterns at the Village of 10,000 Buddhas’ booth at the Alex Thomas Plaza on Saturday Feb. 4th from 11 am – 4 pm during the Year of the Dragon New Year’s celebration. Proceeds from the lantern sales go to help the children of Haiti.

"Bear In Mind: The Story of the California Grizzly" will be on view at the Grace Hudson Museum. This exhibit tells the saga of one of California's most beloved and feared animals "the grizzly bear" a central character in California's history. The show chronicles the demise of the bear and takes a look at grizzlies in our imagination, where they still live on.
Featured in the exhibit are contemporary art pieces by Gualala painter Heidi Endemann and Bay Area sculptor Joyce Clements. The exhibit is up through February 12, 2012.

Nicole Paisley Martensen, silk and linen panels
N. Paisley Studio will be open and exhibiting works from Nicole Martensen and Marcia Riwney. Nicole works in large format textile collage, and utilizes several different transfer processes, painting, drawing, and sewing to create layers of meaning and narrative. Marcia Riwney uses mainly recycled materials in her cardboard, paper, and laminated collages.
Small works including cards, scarves, and functional art will also be for sale.
